I'm new but I don't belive my SJ is?

Post by JJ0063 » Wed Sep 19, 2012 12:45 am

Hi all

Been browsing the site as a 'Guest' for a few days now & did stumble upon a for sale thread from months ago for the SJ i've just purchased from my brother in law.

I'm new to off roading but eager to get on some green lanes & eventually some pay and play days!

I'm 20, from Norfolk, got a 306 HDI as a daily (Lowered too much & smokey remap!) and just purchased this SJ (Actually a sammy I think?!) But yeah, hopefully a decent learning curve! I work for Adrian Flux insurance by day, fettle cars by night. I'm a qualified mechanic & love getting my hands dirty!

Anyway, here's the hack as I purchased it. Not done a thing to it yet.

Here's the spec to my knowledge..
100% solid all welding done with brand new:-
front wings+inner wings
headlights
iniciators
80x80x5mm box section sills
reverse shakles
Calamini shocks
2" body lift
Painted with 2 coats of red oxide primer the 3 coats of massy fergison red enamel tractor paint with roller so dont expect it to be factory finish but it will never rust
32mm wheel spacers
Cobra bucket seats
4 x tyres are new recip trial 31x10.5x15
rear end replaced with a galvinised halfords trailer
Got it for £430 with the MOT running out at the end of the month, i'd like to think it was a bargain but i'll update this after MOT day & let you know whether it was or not!

Cheers, Jordan

Nice to see another member from Norfolk. I'm in Aylsham.
Plenty of local clubs that arrange pay 'n' play's as well as greenlaning if your ever stuck for a bit of off roading.

£430. Is that an alright price?

I saw it was previously up for £1200 in January, sounds a lot to me!

It needs some tidying up, I may roller it a different colour, red isn't my top choice!

& lazy rambler, sounds good to me. Let me get to know this thing & have a play on some farm tracks to get used to it then i'm 100% up for it.

I'm from Swaffham but keeping it at the in laws just outside Wymondham.

Cheers :)

Sounds like you got a bargain! I will be honest I'm not a huge fan of the back end but apart from that the spec is damn good for that price!

£430? I would have bitten the guys arm off! That sounds like the biggest bargain in the history of the world.
There's three ways of doing things:

The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.
