ah nice, got a few other things to do first... mainly welding and paint!!

That's SU HS2 (it has two vertical bolt holes and a 1.25" tube just like the SJ410) it will fit onto the SJ410 and is a smaller carb than the HS4 or HIF38. You need to make up a plate with 1.25" hole two vertical holes where the SU bolts on the two more to line up with the SJ's bolt holes. Use a alloy plate very a similiar thickness to the manifold spacer.
You will also have to cut the lugs on the float chamber to get that to stand upright.

So has any one come to a conclusion on what's the best setup for the 1.6 8v with su carb, bfm or bbz needle, just wondering which one to go for.

Drove mine for the first time today on a BFM with a yellow spring and wasn't disapointed!

Can anyone explain what pipes go where on a HIF44, as you may know I'm part way through a 1.6 conversion and I'm unsure on how to 'plumb in' the SU.

If you've not bolted it on yet, slap a photo of the side of it on here and we can work out what everything is. Worked for me.
There's three ways of doing things:
The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.
