Re: Leaf over axel
If I was to go SPOA (which I wouldn't ) I would remove the add-a-leaf as it will end up far too high with them as well.
either way you'll need
*longer brake lines
*lowered bumpstops
*Prop spacers or longer props (longer props are the best option!)
*Z-steering link or High steer conversion (hi-steer is the best option!)
*longer shocks and new lower shock mounts if you want to make the most out of SPOA

You not like SPOA then? What are drawbacks?

Re: Leaf over axel
From my experiences in SPOA trucks, it very floppy and unstable!!!

I just think you end up too high for the width of SJ axles and it makes it easier to roll the SJ in off camber situations. It's good when combined with hilux axles etc. or if you are running really wide wheels.
What size tyres do you want to run? In my opinion that should be the deciding factor on how hight o lift your SJ if you don't want to cut into the bodywork.

Re: Leaf over axel
I would leave it at that high tbh... after all the bigger they are the harder they fall!
I have 235/80r15s on mine and it's probably only 1" more lift max

Re: Leaf over axel
This ones SPOA running 30mm spacers and 265/75 x 16 Dirt Devils and will lean further over now without tipping than it did pre SPOA on 195x15's
But then it is a fair bit wider

Re: Leaf over axel
Like I said earlier, it's fine if it's combined with extra width, most spoa Sjs I see end up being far too tall for their width though and that's when they start to fall over

Re: Leaf over axel
Yeah they are quite narrow vehicles with the standard tyres... good thing the road tyres barely have any grip otherwise they would roll instead of sliding haha
For a Standard height SJ, 195s and 215s are perfect
I think 225s and 235 are perfectly suited to 2-3" of lift.
If you want higher, like 4-5" lift, its a better option to look at 255s and 265s as highlander says
