twin battery/ winch

when fitting a winch do u have to have 2 batteries or is 1 ok aslong my trucks running wen I use the winch.and if I have 2 batteries do u have to have split charge or can u put them in a series linked together

What ever you do don't link them in series (unless you want 24v!) You should link them in parallel which added the current capacity (but not your volts) of your batteries together making them act like a single large battery, split charge is a good idea and is better although it is expensive and you should be alright with just a second battery in parallel with isolators to seperate it from your standard wiring,

If you get a decent battery you'll be fine with one mate, I always have the engine running when winching though
