Looking good.
How much weight do you reckon you've added with the checker plate and exhaust bracketing?

Probably weighs less than a pair of rear seats anyway.

Re: Tom's 85' SJ413 Build
have nearly finished my sj just being lazy and not updating my thread so shame on me.
anyways
pretty pointless pic but is pretty self explanatory
that big sheet of plate gets slidden over the back of my truck then those strips of metal are all bolted together with m4's , excuse the shelfing strut it was the only bit of metal i could find and it was a perfect fit!
ANOTHER PIC SHOULD GO HERE BUT IVE LOST IT!
my filler neck is actually from a boat! but its suitible and i spoke to my mot man he said he will go through a mot find as long as he said it seals tight he hasnt got a problem with it
This bit i nearly lost my arm... thats another story! , drilled to 75mm holes (i think) , to allow the heat from my exhaust to come out through the back of the fastback!
and i was going to use these:
but not far off about £6 pound each pluss postage i thought that was a bit extreme for my liking , so all of a sudden my old man had a brainwave and it was cheaper to by to downlights nick the bit off the top and chuck the rest and the neighbours dog , the guaze is from fleebay about a quid each and this is the end result
bunged a bit of checka plate in the boot (well what i have left anyway!) to stop my crap rolling into and burning on the exhaust pipe
and to finish it off a bit of caping behind the seats!

Re: Tom's 85' SJ413 Build
yeah your gunna struggle to keep that clean.
although I personally don't like the exhaust idea you've made a real good job of it with the gauzes and how well its been planned out etc.
Good work.

Sid James gone but never forgotten

Exactly What I was thinking Robbie! Tom just remember you can go out and enjoy it when it's finished! yeah we all have our moments when we loose motivation with a build but you've just gotta go crack on and before you know it all those little fiddly jobs get ticked off the list of things to do!ROBBIE wrote:
