Bargains at ALDI

Post by bourneyo » Thu Mar 05, 2009 11:37 pm

Got me a tidy lil bargain today from ALDI!

£82 for a air comressor!

has something like a 25ltr tank, a 2.5hp motor and deliveres air at 9bar. came complete with 5 + 10 mtr hoses, tyre inflator, spray gun and some other lil bits then i payed another £15 for an impact wrench!

am quite chuffed, didn't get chance to play tho as i had to go work, but in the mornin I will be gettin it out the box to see if its any good! lol

Technical spec:

Maximum working pressure...8BAR (120psi)
Pump air displacement...9.5CFM(270litres/min)
Air receiver (tank) capacity...24litres
Motor capacity...1.87KW
Motor rotation speed...2850rpm
Power supply voltage...230V/50Hz
Motor HP...2.5HP
LWA max...97dBA
Dimensions...585x285x630mm
Weight...Net 34kg
...Gross 35kg

Some of the minor bits seem abit cheep like the handle, air filter housing etc, but the rest of it seems quite wel built. I have only had time to power it up, take it up to max pressure and stick one of the guns on, then blow random crap across the shed

I know people say you get what you pay for but it has a 3yr manufacturers warranty, and on the halfords site there is a compressor with a 2HP motor but a 50ltr tank for the funny side of 200notes, and that still only comes with a 2yr warranty, and none of the extra guns.

If you want to see the user guide for the compressor and other bits go to http://www.omegawolf.com/powercraft

I have now dropped my second job, so should get some time on either wednesday or thursday to stick the impact wrench on and test that out! oooo I love having new toys to play with! lol

i got one of the halfords 25lt compressor, soon got a 50lt one as it was not the man for the job.
you need at least a 10mm hose to run an impact gun or the flow will be to slow,
wot bar duz the gun need all mine need 10bar or more,
the 25lt will run one depending on the bar but you will soon get bored of waiting
for it to get back up 2 pressure and just do it by hand.
is all good for pumping up the odd tyre or blowing crap away, you may use it to spray but you will find is not a
fine mist for long and will go all blobby and mess up all your hard work.
dont mean to rain on your parade just wanna warn you, but im sure you will be fine as the man who sold you
the kit most probably knows more than me. but he did get your money
the smallest compressor i'd get would be a 50 even for small jobs a 25 ain't worth the money coz you soon will get a 50 or bigger
