Update again

First port of call, after opening and closing the window all of 3 times, the winder broke so

Image

found a spare handle in a box of bits so not back to standard again

also got some fabric from the market, found some spray glue, and got busy

first off, the head lining, made from some hard board and had to do it in two halfs to make it fit

Image

then had some extra material left so did the door cards

Image

which was nice, also hoovered and changed the stereo, and also measured up and tested the winch i got off tom, all working very well, maybe a winch bumper in the new few weeks, all good stuff

next week, i have a weekend of offroading at parkwood (i think, the one near gatwick) so should have some photos and maybe video too

thanks for looking

hi,

couldnt do me a favour, when your next working on your sj, could you measure how wide and long the base is on the back. around the light area, that sort of level,

i cant find any measurements on the net, you got me the panel sizes before.

Cheers

Ian, sorry havent remembered to get any measurements when ever i am outside, will do shortly i promise

Little update, did a competition with my club at picadilly woods, what a place, if you happen to have lockers and 35's otherwise, it is a nightmare, even getting from one side of the site to the other took 13 cars an hour, needless to say, I wont be going back there again.

anyway i managed to scrape 1 dustbin full of mud off the SJ straightened the wheelarch that i managed to bend on the rear pickup bit

Image

quite hard to see, but not bad considdering the conditions.

here is a picture with some jerry ridged extra spots for the night section we did

Image

also, new devopment occoured on sunday, a 2 figure sum and some swearing as i helped remove

Image

cant decide if i want to try the injection route, or bike carbs, the bike carbs would sound pretty good

Thanks guys, it was nice to get it propper muddy again, however the clean up was a nightmare.

16v was just too cheap to pass up, still unsure what direction to take, think if i could get a loom ecu and maf, i might keep it fuel injected, however, the sound of a ballanced and lightened raised compression lightly ported 16v on bike carbs just gives me the fizz

Covenantor, I used to be very knowledgable, (i used to be able to spell too) i think i remember where the bolts are for the rear bumper, but that is about it

anyway, bit of an update, spent a lot of sunday removing and refitting a gearbox in a series 2 109, but that is another matter, however at the end, i got ( i say I, I mean my mate simon) got a tape measure, losely fitted my winch plate, and he then took some steel to work, and did this

Image

can you tell what it is yet?
