Re: Twiss' Build/Breakages Thread!
Good job.
I would have fired it up without the manifold for a good deathaning!

Re: Twiss' Build/Breakages Thread!
New Update! Still can't get it fired up due to lack of exhaust manifold, but I have won it on ebay and apparently it's being posted tomorrow
Yesterday I fitted the fan temp switch (ebay beauty) into the top hose
I have put the electric fan on it tonight, and just wired it up... although I'm going to fit a seperate relay for my fuel pump as well
I ordered the 14" fan and it's a bit big!!! Literally covers the whole radiator
Looking at it, it actually fits perfectly! There are flattened edges at the top and bottom of the fan cowling and they fit perfectly onto the SJ radiator lips

Re: Twiss' Build/Breakages Thread!
Got my nice shiny exhaust manifold gasket today!
Hopefully the manifold should appear at work tomorrow
Only cost me £9 quid inc vat, which is cheaper that the 8v gasket!

Re: Twiss' Build/Breakages Thread!
Well, no startup video today!!!
I got the exhaust manifold in the post today. First random thing I've ordered at my new job so everyone was wondering that it was!
On my lunch break I had a proper look at it, and popped round to my mates house to offer it up to a selection of different downpipes/middle boxes.
Surprise surprise the 8v downpipe (standard sami one) doesnt fit.
The flange on the end of it is too small so it doesn't fit on the manifold with the weird wire gasket thing
Went into 6 different garages to find some scrap exhaust and all of the flanges are too small! Damn
Looks like I'm going to have to get a Vit downpipe!
Just got back in from work and test fitted it to the zook!
Here is it!
Looks good right? Thats what I thought until I took a closer look!
The end of the manifold the downpipe attaches onto is close to the chassis, very close.
No chance of getting a bolt in there!
So I have decided what I'm gonna do!
I'm going to chop the flange and a short length off my downpipe, and remove the wire gasket thing from the manifold.
Then I'm going to weld the flange bit onto the manifold, weld a flexy join onto that, and then weld the rest of the exhaust onto it!!!
Something like this....
Hope it works! haha

Can you cant the engine to the drivers side a little to give yourself a bit more room? I seem to remember when I put my mounts in I moved it across a bit to get the exhaust to fit.
