Insurance used to be simple

Post by Christoff » Wed Feb 08, 2012 10:14 pm

They want;

Limited mileage declaration
Proof of immobiliser
Photocopies of all drivers licences and counterparts
Six recent colour photographs
Modified vehicle declaration
Agreed value form

Is this normal?

They didnt ask all this before. Well all except the photos, value form and the modified vehicle report. It only has the rear seats removed

I don't know about normal, but when I did mine, all the Co-op wanted was a photocopy of my pass-plus certificate.

All they said on the phone was proof of immobiliser. Now they want a shit load of information iv got a massive form to fill in including listing all details of engine, gearbox, brakes, suspension etc. and iv got to say what condition everything's in chassis, electrics, panel work etc

Plus an extra £15 for no reason. Iv already paid my policy in full

Tempted to cancel and find another insurer.

I think it would take me a while to compile a list of all the modifications to mine  probably easier to say what hasn't been modified.

Come to think of it, I'm not actually sure if there is anything I haven't modified? :er:

I know so do you have to list them all for your insurer?

All i said was rear seats removed i forgot about the tyres and the body lift. I suppose il have to mention those now but i hope they dont want more money

What tyres are standard on the samurai? I have 235/70 R15

All they ever ask me for is card details!!

Maybe its because of your age/experience, are you a young/new driver?

I listed my mods for my insurer, but I just told them the mods over the phone and that was it! :)
