Well guys I have never been away, I poopped in for look to see what you are all up to,
I kept meaning to log in and say Hi but......

Anyway, got some rain here at last but we still have to search for mud.

The zook...sorry, I mean Cy-Zuki, is still the same (2" body lift, breathers, 235/75/15 muds) oh and I have just done the
VW Mk2 golf headlight mod. I asked a mate in Scotland to get a pair of Golf headlights from a scrappy and he was quoted 30 quid plus VAT - he got em for 38quid inc vat brand new!... now I know that is a lotta dosh when you see what they cost on Flea Bay but I can't easily EBay from here. Anyway, they are a brilliant mod which I highly recommend to anyone. I am also getting some of those OSRAM 90% brighter lamps at the same amperage so they remain legal.

To be honest, I want to mod the zook more but it is just Brilliant for what I need. It does not look as macho as many but I can't REALLY justify further mods as it has been so fantastic as it is. I quite fancy a rocklobster and a lockrite though.
Anyway folks, enough drivel from me, I hope you are all well and enjoying yourselves in Zookdom?

bless ya, i know how it is my sj is modded as much as i want it to go for now, love to do more but its more than enough effort just keeping it road legal!
ive got the 4.16:1 t box and it does make a big difference,(using 235/75r15 tyres to) and first is so low i can avoid it if i want, its deffinatly worth having i can get into 5th on the road now :)

You are bang on Luke. Any time (well 95% of the time) I go into Low ratio 4WD I only use 1st.
So that makes me think I need a lower set of ratios.

With my 235's I can use 5th but it is less often than when stock. Don't care so much about 5th,
but 1st only must mean I nead to get some lower gears. 4.16:1 is the norm but my mate in the U.S
(with 235's or 29") wishes he had got the 4.9:1 as it gets even lower for more control when on rocks...
without relly sacrificing on road ability.

it all depends about top speed, i know before when my sj was standard i once touched 80mph (be it down hill with the wind in my sails) i used to be able to cruise at 60 and get to 70 dependent on road conditions, now with the crawler box its more like cruising at 50 topping out at 60, 70..... well its in my dreams, personally i wouldn't go any lower, but then again the terrain i deal with is alot different to the terrain you deal with after all, you have lots of rocks and 'desert' conditions, wheras in england we have lots of mud and damp conditions,
also sometimes i go on the motorway which doesnt really apply to cipriots, on the motorway im driving with the hgv's, sometimes overtaking them,. sometimes they are overtaking me!
i can imagine 4.90 and 4.16 being relatively similar, are you making the box up yourself? its always worth doing the 2wd low mod,

all the best from a snowy yorkshire
