My local milkman and his electric float dont have a problem in all weathers! Lol. Its the soft start on the electric that causes people problems. Hou cant just shove all the battery power into the motor. Electric wheelchairs n such use soft start.

Its not just the soft start, its giving speed control through the full range, the most effective way is by using an Inverter which generates different pitch wave forms to control the speed, and some can be temperamental (especially compared to older motor speed controllers) but they are bloody efficient!rgonzobull wrote:My local milkman and his electric float dont have a problem in all weathers! Now that I hadn't thought of.Highlander wrote:I would imagine if I went the places I usually go in an electric SJ i'd get electrocuted in no time
I suppose you could help a bit but putting something, like a sheet some kind of rigid plastic, between the chassis rails under the engine bay to stop spray, but it wouldn't make a difference to submerging it.
There's three ways of doing things:
The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

I am in the same fram of mind as Jay Leno and welsome the electric stuff, allthough no the battery powered as it is just to inconvienent, however once they sort out the fuel cell and generating hydrogen cheaply, that will be the future of motoring
why do i like it, simple, because it will make our petrol engine that more special, as jay said, before cars, we all used to have horses used and abused them and treated them like tools, now look, they are all pets/wild animals now, used for pleasure and fun.
Really like the look of a V8 Food mixer though, and how cute was the little petrol can for the card machine?

I know. The noise the card machine made was kinda adorable in a weird way.justaddmud wrote:Really like the look of a V8 Food mixer though, and how cute was the little petrol can for the card machine?
