leaking half shaft

leaking half shaft

ive just put a new half seal in my rear axle.but its still leaking how far do u have to nock the seal in.ive nocked it in flush with the axle if that makes sense.does it need to go a bit further in

Are you sure the wheel bearing is ok? If the bearing is loose it could cause the seal to fail.

As ferris said.

Jack the wheel up and check for play.

When you changed the seal did you leave the little plastic ring with holes in it behind the seal? It's job is to protect the seal from damage when you put the shaft in.

Is it definetly axle oil? Not brake fluid leaking from the brake cylinder?

the wheel bearings got a bit ov play but it leaks wen its not even moveing if its parked on an angle.and ye the plastic rings in.its like the seal isnt touching where it should be
