motorcycle insurance.

Post by Russ24 » Thu Sep 29, 2011 12:36 am

hey guys

ok who amongst us also owns and uses a road bike?

i wanted to ask some advice on insurance.

i recently had a policy with ebike insure  .. useless bastards..... lets just say a company that operates entirely by email isnt a good thing. i never received a reminder and have been riding around since december last year WITHOUT INSURANCE :| . only realised when i tried to tax it last week. (typo on their system) meant i was insured for 23 hours and 59 minutes.

how the hell i didnt get caught is a miracle. ignorance is not bliss. doesnt bare thinking about if i have had a spill!! :S

all i need from the policy is courtesy bike and breakdown cover. other than it actually having a number in which i can call and NOT email

cheers guys

ps.

imown a honda vfr750 mid 90's jobby. standard. so i dont need street racing insurance or green laning cover or track day shit.

Got my bike insurance with Hastings they weren't the cheapest but things like policy excess come into play.. ZX12r fully comp protected NCB cost me £132 for the year..
But would suggest trying a couple of the compare type searches as well. When you've got your insurance tax the bike for a year and you'll have a daily reminder of when your insurance is due(date on tax disc)

Oh and have your answers ready.. Some insurers will grill you big time over why there's been a gap in your insurance. Then because of it will try to up the price. Whatever you do Don't tell them you forgot to insure it.Hope this helps a bit
