I bet that was one long drive. Glad the SJ held up ok (not that i doubted it for a second) :guns: .

It's actually quite nice driving Sjs in france though! the main roads are 100x better than UK roads and they are long and straight :smokin:

I think the ride quality in an SJ is quite understated. I've driven all my friend's first cars (1992 Metro, 2001 Fiesta, 1998 Polo, 1997 106, 2002 Micra, 2009 Corsa) and I have to say, my zuke is more comfortable that all but perhaps the Micra on a normal road (speed bumps and back country are baaaaad though). They're all very bumpy and any faster than 50 is heading for brown trousers in all bar the much newer Corsa. I think it's probably due to the small wheels and tyres, plus the Corsa's the 'sportier' SXi version (VXR wannabe) so the ride was bound to be aweful. Sure they're all more economical and quicker etc. but I feel a hell of a lot safer, more comfortable and more confidant in the vehicle with my SJ. My friend's little hatches feel fragile and unstable, which is really bizarre considering what we're comparing here.
There's three ways of doing things:

The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.
