Don't get me started with insurance. The joys of getting your own policy, even after driving for two years at the age of 19.

Flux were going to charge me £1500 for my SJ, but I can get a quote through admiral for a rangerover V8 now for £1100, fully comp. For somebody aged 19 with no NCB I was rather pleased. Made it cheaper by listing the LPG conversion as a modification as well!

Whats more is flux said "we've got you a really good quote" and then they say £1500. I almost had a heart attack, was hoping for something like £800 - 900.

Got a policy of £600.00 for my SJ after months of haggling. Footman james slammed the phone down on me and basically told me to piss off and said I wouldn't get a quote.

After spending many nights playing with online forms the tips i've found are:

Park you car in a residential parking area (How is that cheaper than a locked garage?)
Put between 3000 and 5000 miles for the cheapest quote (how not 1500?)
Two named drivers who have been driving for 15+ years without any accidents

And a few others I cannot remember.

Have a feeling there was a glitch in the admirals computer system when I did the rangerover insurance quote.

GRRRRRRRR Dam Car Insurance :pissed: :argh: :pissed: :argh: :pissed: :argh:
