Yeah, but I'm thinking in terms of insurance, Suzuki fitted the 1300 SPi in SJs in the factory (late on obviously) so it's less of a modification.
There's three ways of doing things:

The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

Frank Pickles don't charge extra for different engines anyway... you would have the cheaper tax though

Yeah, that's also true. That's actually one of the reasons I went for an SJ initially instead of a 'Sport'trak or a series Land Rover 2.25, before I fell in love with the Samurai we rented in Turkey.

It's only like an extra £50 a year though... or something similar!

It's well worth £50 a year for the 1600 engine :D

well i finally had some time this weekend and am happy to say the engine is in and running :cowboy:: there are no clouds of smoke and no strange noises 8-) just got to adjust the dutch and hope this 1 lasts

glad the cover is ok :thumbup:

what a dick i am i said i needed to adjust the clutch the reason being when i tried to move the SJ it wouldnt move?????
id connected the cable back at the same position as it was before but it just wouldnt go??????
when i removed the prob from the gearbox to t-box i put it in neutral so when i got it goin i forgot to but it back into 2wd :tosser:

lol your not the only one to have done that i did the same when i put my new clutch in
