New member - Own LWB SJ413
Re: New member - Own LWB SJ413
Garage is now clean, though have spare SJ parts to put on ebay now. Need a free listing weekend ASAP!
Now to move onto the final complex task which is the air filter but I will run it for a week to see if any problems arise before doing more modifications. I have everything to do the air filter now, just need to break in to my old school as know one of the teachers quite well there and borrow their workshop and welder for the day.
Plan to cut the bonnet in sort of an H shape bend it to the right points so that the elbow fits under the bonnet and have fun welding for many hours . Will post pictures on the process. Hopefully at the same time I can take the sump off and see if I can re-shape that with a grinder and welder and then thats the welding done till next year's MOT when a few body mounts need to be done.
I can then start playing rather than fixing stuff that's broken or non-existent
If any one wants an SJ dashboard (a bit knackered but mostly ok) you are welcome to have it. Have a center console as well that you are also welcome to have, if not it's being broken up and taken to the dump.
Not sure what else to say apart from I need to get some pictures uploaded for you guys to have a look.
If anyone is in Warwickshire when i'm back at uni (25th September) pop over or a cuppa tea if you want to have a gander at my project.

Some pictures from when I went for a drive today on the way to an archery club.
Had a go at fitting the soft top. Just need to locate/make a rear hoop and I have a soft top for use next summer.

It should work for a LWB SJ.
I would be there like a shot however the drive from Norwich is a bit overkill.
I may well take you up on that offer. I have a friend who is camping on holiday near Bristol so maybe over a pint or two he may be persuaded to pick it up for me. Will let you know asap.
Don't suppose you have a windscreen channel as well?
It's shown here http://www.suzukiclubuk.co.uk/index-diy.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.
How much do you want for them?

dont want anything for it mate.
unfortunatly I dont have any other roof parts as this is only not used because I have a fastback roof.
cant imagine it would be to hard to find something else you could use as channel.
would you need the little black blocks it connect onto from the rear tub aswell. if so I can remove mine. (again not needed for the fastback)

I will get back to you on if I am able to collect the rear hoop from you. Might be able to drive down on a free weekend at uni.
Re: New member - Own LWB SJ413
Well today was bonnet modification.
Almost finished the welding, but after running out of gas on the proper welder, had to use the smaller one with disposable bottles back at home. The new bottle I purchased today annoyingly would not work, so have to go and get that replaced/get a refund.
Pictures uploaded for you to have a look at.
I also found out that the whole bonnet is painted in powder coat... and by further inspection I think the whole of my SJ might be covered with the DAM stuff.
