Driving along a road the other day and in the distance I saw a huge cloud of smoke covering the road, It was one hell of a thick cloud that you could not see through, and almost looked like a house was on fire apart from the fact it was a blueish grey colour. the cloud was travelling towards me quite slowly.
what was the cloud following?
I wonder..........
A P38 range rover
It was pulling into a lay-by just as I passed it. still kicking huge amounts of smoke out of the exhaust!
one less land rover on UK roads
I was......

Re: I was......
We had a similar thing once. We were booting it northbound on the Caistor high-road in Mum's 300TDi, approaching Caistor itself and we found ourselves driving into a fog that was almost literally in our lane only. Looking across at a a bend, we could see a white van at the head of this cloud. Turned out to be a third gen Renault Trafic. When we got closer, he pulled over, and we did too, in front of him. He stopped his engine and I walked over after the cloud dissipated. He was headed to Matt Pearce's in Caistor, which is were we go if needed for the L**d R***rs, so we gave him a tow.
In the end it needed three piston rings and a new head. They grafted a Land rover engine into it instead, one of the gutless but indestructible 200TDi engines from the 'Classic' R***e R***rs and pre-facelift D*******ys.
From bad to worse you could say.

There's three ways of doing things:
The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.
