Mk 2 Golf.. help please
Mk 2 Golf.. help please
Now im looking at changing my car, and i would love a Mk2. What do i need to look out for?
Ive been told 8v over the 16v. Any good websites or clubs i can have a look at.
Are there any common rust problems? Is there any modifications that i should be weary of?

Havent rally considered a budget. What are they worth?
My dad had one several years ago, and has told me that if im getting one to get the 8v "fully loaded" (have no idea what he means by that ) and a shed load of history.
Ive been looking at ebay, lots out there, will a whole load of mods.
So different to suzukis.....

Fully loaded means with all the optionals. My Dad's friend had one, and it suffered from repetitive flooding. At higher RPMs while driving it was okay, but town driving it used to flood itself. I think his was a 16v. In terms of bodywork; arches, aroung the tailgate, bottoms of windows etc. All the usual spots.
I've had a ride in one. You need serious balls to drive one fast, 'cause they can corner so hard it hurts.

There's three ways of doing things:
The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

I got that edd, but what specs are there?
Just been on your link parrot, reading the stickies, saying an 8v will put 35-40 mpg! First job is t test drive a local one.
And i bet they dont corner like the pulsar of my brothers...... He scares me....

It's not in the best of nick, its a little bit rusty but it's got a full mot and I think she wants 1100 for it. Would have to check though..
