Seeing that i destroyed my previous engine with no oil getting round it, i want to put in an oil pressure gague to make sure its all ok. I had a look on ebay there is a lot of tat with smoked dials and blue backlighting that looks like it will break. I see a gague called tim are these good i hear it needs to be good as if they fail they leak oil at the gague.
As for fitting i know they come as a kit but does it connect up to where the oil light switch is, and what happens to it?

Re: Oil pressure gague
The screw into the side of the engine, just where the pressure sensor for the dash oil light goes.
You can get a T-piece that will allow you to keep your oil warning light as well.
I would steer clear of anything that actually take the oil up to the gauge?!
I have the Voltage and Water temp versions of the gauge below and they both seem OK!
Can be a bit hard to read when the sun's shining on them though...

Re: Oil pressure gague
Yes Tim are good guages, but it sounds like the one you want is an analogue one so you will need to run an oil line, from the engine, through the bulkhead and into the back of the guage. a lot of hassle but they are accurate and perfectly safe.
I just run one of the cheapy auto guage ones from mcgill motosports on ebay, It has an electrical sender so it's only a wire you need to run into the cab. I'm not 100% sure how accurate it is but to be fair as long as it doesn't drop below what It normally reads you know it hasn't lost any oil pressure and as Twiss says you can get a T-piece to run your existing warning light as well but I just run the guage on it's own on mine.
Defi, Tim, Auto meter, Stack & VDO are the best quality and most accurate guages, but the price does reflect that with some of them

Re: Oil pressure gague
i dont mind running anything into the cab the samurai is easy for that.
I took out the heater matrix in my anus and all the ventilation stuff, so i now have a nice square where the heater controls and vents were in the middle of the dash, with a flat sheet of plastic ill cut out something to fit in there and thats where ill have the gagues.
this is what i seen:
