Windscreen Wiper Motor

Post by OzyNick » Wed Mar 09, 2011 3:26 am

G'day all!

A few days ago my wipers really slowed down. I had to physically push them back into the 'park' position, they moved with some eelctric power but barely at all. I basically power assisted them and didn't force anything.

Had to turn them on the other day, they came a quarter way acroos the screen, very slowly, then stopped, this time for good!

Fuse checks out OK.

My Questions,
* Is the motor hard to replace?
* Is there anything else I should check before considering replacement
* Is there a substitute for the original wiper motor (at a quick search here in Oz no-one has a second hand Sierra wiper motor).

Suzuki Sierra 1993
1.3 litre.

Thanks in advance for any info!

tintop not certain but not easy.

i would check the pins that come through the body that the wiperarms mount to because they tend to sease (spelling) up
Sid James gone but never forgotten
Jimny 1.6 not as good as an SJ but still good
