Hi from ICELAND

Post by IceSukki » Mon Feb 28, 2011 12:52 pm

Hello guys, my name is Bjorn and I live in Iceland and is proud owner of 1986 Suzuki SJ410 LWB.
The car has been modified a lot in its lifespan and I am continuing to do so myself.
This is a list of modifications as is today.
Engine: Volvo 4 cyl B230 est. HP is 110
Transmission: 5 Speed Volvo gearbox
Transfer case: Is original Suzuki
Power steering from Mazda 929
I have recently changed from old Dana axles to axles from Toyota LC 70 with No-Spin.
Suspension: Front are coil springs and in the rear is air suspension with 4 link.
Rims are 15” and 14” wide and on them are mounted 38” Monster Mudders tires
Custom fuel tank is 150 L, wheelbase has been increased by 30 cm and the car is now a pickup.
Onboard air compressor, VHF radio, CB radio and GPS navigation system.

I am now in the process of finishing my Suzuki after the axle swap and hopefully will finish it
this winter, but there has been very little snow her in Iceland this winter so there is no hurry.
I am also considering putting a diesel engine in it to cut down the fuel cost but have not yet found suitable engine.

Her in Iceland we mainly use our 4x4 trucks for winter wheeling in the highlands of Iceland and on the glaciers so little snow is not good for us here.

This is what it looks like today, still needs paints and other things.

Welcome to the Suzuki Club UK! Nice ride you have there, I'm sure I've seen it before! I think there may even be a pic in the gallery section...

Hi there. Nice to have you on the forum.

That is a fantastic looking truck Bjorn. Nice work.
There's three ways of doing things:

The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.
