hi, left my car parked for 2 weeks. - Samurai 89.
Came back, fan belt burnt off when I was warming up the engine (at night)
In morning saw the altenator had siezed up.
Got onto it with a socket and turning it it is sticking heavily.
Sprayed some lubricant in there while turning, still sticking.
What to do?
Thanks
Graham

Re: Lock Up
I say either strip it down and replace the bearing/s that have failed or replace for a new one,
Welcome back any way, You havn't been on for a while, is everything still ok?

Re: Lock Up
hi Tramp, not bad thanks.
Things are difficult with these old engines when they are left for any time idle ya!
I was hoping if I got a new fan belt and fitted it up tight it might free it up?
What do you think?
