Once I have the front diff changed I'll be staying 4.3 and then sort the transfer box with some reduction gears. Im also considerkng rhe 26 spline front shafts so i cannuse 2 un modified rear diffs, ease of use. Follow your original advice scottie just 4 years later

Side by side comparison. The new shafts are a nice amount bigger, definitely softens the blow from the cost!

Re: Coiled turqoise samurai 16v
So my speedo stopped working and I'm not totally certain. That the vss was working as its made hardly any difference to the performance.
I'm also wondering if its possible to change from some Spanish clocks to the jap clocks and just rewire it. The vitara speedo is so far out and lazy to respond. Tried to adjust using the little lever but made no difference really

Sounds like a tricky one man, sure you'll get to the bottom of it

I don’t think the VSS makes a big difference to the performance, I just found it made it a bit smoother, unless it was all in my head. More importantly though you will constantly have a check engine light if the VSS isn’t hooked up.
It shouldn’t be too hard to swap in a jap cluster, just be mindful that the Spanish fuel tank sender won’t work with the jap cluster, the jap and Spanish temp senders have a different resistance (not much of an issue as the jap senders are easier to get) and the headlights are positive switched on Spanish and negative switched on the jap so you might need to tweak the full beam warning light wiring (I’ve not really looked into it before)
I have sumitomo terminals for sale for the jap cluster plugs (but only the larger wire size)
On my LWB I just swapped in a complete jap loom.
