ScottieJ, believe me I do understand. Any help you can provide to put me in touch with a sump or a worn F8a would be much appreciated.

I need to open a new thread with bits/list that would be a help to finish.

If you do decide to let a motor go, then let me know, otherwise I will keep on looking.

I have done a few more bits to the LJ and have had a few suggestions of LJ sumps or possible F8a motors awaiting rebuilds and languishing under workshop benches for years nothing has come to fruition yet.

I think I am going to pull the F10 engine out and take a closer look to see if I can do something about fitting it into the engine bay.

If anybody is able to help with finding a sump (or f8a) do not hesitate to contact me through this thread or privately any help would be appreciated.

Stick a Vitara engine in it and be done? Just a thought!
If it ticks over...leave it

Now you are being silly!

and have over estimated my abilities, I was told that the SJ410 engine would drop straight in........?

There is no way that I am going to try and shoe horn a Vitara in there when the one that is supposed to be the perfect alternative is proving problematic.

That is interesting that you should say that ........ how does the Vitara engine get around all the steering, damper and differential stuff???? Is there a trick I am missing with the SJ410 motor?
