What is this?
What is this?
The little blue box attached to the end of the manifold, I originally thought it was an old cherry bomb but after seeing them on a few sj's, now I'm not sure if they are a centre section that came as standard?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: What is this?
I don't know, it could be!
Anyway, it'll be coming off if that's the case.
Should I replace with a cherry bomb centre section or straight pipe?
And has anyone had problems with emissions on the sj at mot time? Not sure if they are more lenient with older cars?
Thanks.

Re: What is this?
I need to do some adjustments and fit a flexi, so thought I might take it out at the same time if it's a restrictive silencer?
Also I want some pops and bangs

Re: What is this?
I'm pretty sure there's no such thing as a restrictive silencer on a suzuki engine.
Personally I don't really like loud exhausts, you just sound like a twat driving down the road Best thing I ever did was get rid of my old exhaust set up with a cherry bomb. Not only that but I like my night laning and don't want an loud exhaust annoying people late at night.
Why don't you just look down the exhaust.....will soon be able to see what type of silencer it is and that it's probably not restrictive at all.

Re: What is this?
I completely agree Scott, I don't want a loud exhaust at all, I have a powerflow back box situated in front of the rear wheel with the super long tail pipe welded on from the standard exhaust, overall volume has not increased, not noticeably so anyway, the exhaust note sounds much nicer however, with a subtle 'burble'
I just want a bit more of that 'burble'

Re: What is this?
could always remove it and see what the volume is like afterwards? A cherry bomb mid box might give you the burble you want as you’ll then still have two silencers. My old set up was a small silencer and cherry bomb back box, it was pretty loud. Did sound nice but anything above 45mph was deafening
