Fuel tank
Fuel tank
Ok another dilemma looked at fuel tank today and it has been silocened around filler and breather hence the smell of fumes so options are new fuel tank underneath in proper position or one of these fuel cells and mount it it in the rear pick up/tub has anyone had any dealings with these fuel cells ??
Re: Fuel tank
After living with a tank in the back I would suggest keeping it underneath. You can buy sj tanks new.
I've got some spares in ok condition if you want a used one, is your sj jap or Spanish?

Re: Fuel tank
What has been the issues with tank in the back then would have thought it would be better out of the way and excuse my ignorance what's the difference between Spanish or sj
Re: Fuel tank
It's a jap one as I got a jsa chassis number
Re: Fuel tank
Tanks take up more storage space than you'd expect and well it's not like Sj's have much storage space to start with. Guess it's ok if you never go away for weekends in the sj or don't use it to transport things but I do with mine and stuff always ends up on top of the tank and pipes etc.
Re: Fuel tank
I don't really put anything in back apart from a off bag if rubbish to tip I have been looking online and there seems some nice alloy tanks around the 8.5 gallon mark I just need to enquire tomorrow 're locking fuel cap so meet mot requirements
Re: Fuel tank
Can you fit your fuel level sender in these tanks?
I can't wait to go back to having a tank underneath again when I build my next sj, just makes a lot of things easier.

Re: Fuel tank
Im going for a 9.5 gallon behind cab fits in the well, and they do a sight gauge on side so good enough indication and will have a lock for the MOT as i always carry a jerry can, at least like this there will be no chance of getting hit or indeed rotting.
