Window winded....how the #>¥! do you get 'em off!
Finally found a couple of tin doors but need to weld the inevitable rust at the bottoms and paint them...so need to stop the, down but can't get the window winders off, tried to feel for a clip but to no avail and because I can't see the problem I have no idea what I'm up against..can anyone help?

Yep, fold the plastic outer cover inside out and you can see the pin. If you lose it you can cut down a rivet and use that.
If it ticks over...leave it

Is'nt the outer sheath too stiff for that?

I used to press down on the plastic cover with a flat bladed screwdriver, knock the pin partly through with a pin pinch. the pin punch then holds the plastic cover back, you then press down on the opposite side with the screwdriver and tap the pin the rest of the way out,

My doors are apart at the mo. Use a little flat head screwdriver and prise it back, it's pliant enough.

Yup...got it...it's easy when you know how, but now I've taken the door panel off I can see that some of the window mechanism is missing...so along with the fact that the doors need welding work and more window bits I'm going to bin the idea off having them repaired and stick with my canvas doors until i can find a better or a least complete pair of tin doors

How bad are your doors? I have a few sets and would poss P/X a set of yours aren't too bad.
