My buggy is roughly sj 413 but open to be adapted. Sadly found bellhouseing cracked thru at starter area back. Could be welded or seek left overs from someone's upgrade. I'm in my 50s so struggle on PC so learning as I go. Thanks for the advice. Much appreciated.

I think that the point Scottie was making is that the 410 bellhousing won't do a 413 owner much good as the G13 engine in the SJ413 is a significantly different bolt pattern to the F10 engine in the SJ410. You need a 413 gearbox unless you are downgrading to the 1.0.

Yeah that's what I was trying to say. Just got a. It confused by your post about a 410 gearbox when you have a 413. Let me check. I might have a spare 413 gearbox and I'm not far from you.

Hi guys, I'm afraid we got a bit of a tangent. I'm in need of 413 bellhouseing or box. Where I read people have gutted 413/5 speed boxes to put in the 410 cases I'd settle for their leftovers but hey if you're able to sort a whole gearbox well that would be golden!!! An like you said you and I are near enough. Fingers crossed

Complete 413 gearboxes aren't rare, if Scottie doesn't have one, then try Andyrew or Mike Harris.

Back in the shed friends. Unearthed the transfer box for a clean up and check mountings. After reading here I'm curious as to how you tell the small prop version? First SJ I've owned so don't know so much. Do appreciate your help out there

Skinny props are on sj410 built before 1984 i think, it might be 85.

You can also tell by measuring the flange bolt spacing, where the prop bolts to the diff or the transfer case. If the bolt spacings are 56x56mm on centres they are the fatter props and if smaller bolt spacing they are skinny props.

You can also see quite clearly as skinny props are around 40mm in diameter (measured by my eyechrometer  ).
The skinny propped sj will also have a metal dashboard.

Yeah, pretty sure no 413 or samurai came with skinny props. 99.9% certain that you have a fat prop tcase.
