I don't know what you mean!
Re: Hello from Derbyshire!
Meet Ian! Completely standard SJ410 apart from the bodyshell! (Apologies if the pic is too big....couldn't find any rules about pic size)!
Was built by a friend of ours a few years ago. Owned by some other friends from being finished and now lives with us in Derbyshire as of a month-ish ago!
List of jobs already growing.....no heater - now that's interesting in this cold weather. Currently have a window 'squidgy' on a stick to clear the inside of the windscreen (has harnesses and buckets fitted and can't reach the window to wipe it)!
Overheating - got new rad to fit. 2 slow punctures need sorting (thought we had but they're still going down)!
He's a very interesting drive.....seems to bounce all over the road. Definitely need to invest in a new sports bra!
Will be boring everybody to death with engine change questions at some point.

Ah I remember that one, Darren (clubbysj) used to be on here Good to see it back with a new owner.
And this is the place to be if you want info about engine swaps. I would personally go for a 1.3swift gti engine in something like that. pretty easy to fit and 101bhp as standard, it'll go like stink
Can we have a look under the bonnet?

Re: Hello from Derbyshire!
Going like stink is only a distant dream! It's currently screaming at 45mph!
Yes, it's Daz's old motor.
Under the bonnet? Boggo standard 970cc set up with 4 speed box.

Re: Hello from Derbyshire!
Its great that, is it the mini floor pan or the SJ? it just sit's so well on the wheel base and its pretty good looking although if i was going to be off roading i'd want some inner wings in the engine bay
the 410 engine is a quality unit, you should be able to manage abit more than 45mph... but then the su might not be set up right, it looks like your missing the hot air feed from the exhaust, but then I'm not sure how much carb icing effects 410's on su's on 413 the intake is down draft so the carb usually needs to have some sort of heating,

Re: Hello from Derbyshire!
That looks like a right beast
Welcome to the site, a nice 1600 would suit under there

Re: Hello from Derbyshire!
To me that looks like an SJ bulkhead and the start of the transmission tunnel so i'm presuming its the Sj floorpan That must be why it looks so much better than most mini-sj conversions as they could drop the body a lot more.
Re: Hello from Derbyshire!
It's crying out for a 5th gear! Will sort some more pics at the weekend.
Need to do lots of homework on SJs and 4x4s!
