Fitted a su carb on my 1.6 vitara engine and the su carb hits the bonnet what's everyone done about it as I couldn't afford the rockwatt manifold

Re: Need a bonnet scoop
They fit on OK with a samurai bonnet (usually) or you could go on ebay and find some crappy plastic bonnet vent... but be warned... 50mph airflow direct onto the carb won't help with carb icing!

As Twiss said, I just had a hole in the bonnet for the carb.....ice literally formed on the dash pot

Ah I just realised that you have an elbow adapter, my method might not be tall enough

Not sure even a '413 bonnet would clear that

Re: Need a bonnet scoop
Your right, when I had an Su in my Sammie I had to have a scoop. And yes tat then causes icing, but did help with cooling at the back of the engineSherwoodNash wrote:Not sure even a '413 bonnet would clear that
