Lennert's SJ413

Post by LennertBijnensSuzuki » Fri Jun 24, 2016 11:04 pm

Hi,
cause i'm new here, i'm going to give you guys my "projects".
Don't mind my weird English, i speak dutch so try my best to say it in English
My first zuki came in November 2013, a samurai from 1998.
It was a 1.3 Injection engine with an LPG installation (gas), we did some bodywork on it because on the known places it was rotten away
Had a 416 t-case, or like you guys call it, a rocklobster.
Image
this was 2 days before the wellknown Roadbook in Belgium, " HELM offroad " where I broke after 1.2km my 2 rear leafsprings  had then old 3" leafs but the were like stock ones after those years :doublethumbs: only i fitted some extended shackles.

Broke on few weeks 3 leafsprings so decided to fit a 3" Trailmaster liftkit.
here with the new springs from trailmaster
Image

Drove it for a while, and decided to sell because it was not that fun to drive daily to school :screwy:
But 2 days later, i found an '86 SJ413 Japanese one, metaltop. Bought it for 800€
Did a full body restore, chassis complete coated in black and it became an oldtimer (in Belgium from now needs to be 30years old)

Also drove it for a while and because I prefer a softtop, I selled the metaltop body and bought my uncle's really good SJ410 body. Gave it a new paintjob and that's how it is now.
Did a bodylift of 2" and there are some more plans for it

But first... HOW DO I GET PICTURES UPLOADED??? :er: :er: :er:
You need a pic hosting website to upload your pics, get the link code and insert in the Img button on the text thread editor.

There's many to choose from, photobucket etc, I like to use this free service: http://postimage.org/

Looking forward to the pics soon!

So bought my new SJ410 body, what was in really good shape. A few spots that needed some attention.
Some routex ( rubber-coating ) on the botom

fresh paintjob

Body on the chassis
Image

2" bodylift with a 195R15 tire mounted

Got installed a 31" Ledbar
Image

Does a good job, what a view
Image

And how it is now, now on 30x9.5r15 General Grabbers AT², because I do a lot of road, and I don't want to use my muds on the roads all the time :screwy:
Image

So what's on the planning.
First off all, I need a slower transfercase, to fit my probably new tires: 7.50r16 Blackstar Guyane
Was thinking about an 416 or maybe a 5.14, if i going to mount a locker in the reardiff...

Then we need a lift, 3" would be good enough, maybe even to high, like we almost do only roadbooks :thefinger:

and like I said, maybe a locker, what would you guys choose, think the ARB Airlocker are so expensive , but really fine for driving on road also, also looked for a Lockright locker, any of you have some complains about driving it on road or does it works really well? :er:

Ive been told that lockrights can be a bit twitchy on the road, like if you accelerate too hard on a corner!
Lots of people seem to be interested in the cheaper chinese air lockers at the minute. You can find them on sites like Ali Express and they can end up half the price of an ARB

But probably works not that good like an original ARB?? :S
Only do need a locker because there are some events here where you have some crawl sections, and you know how fast a samurai spins on 2 wheels on a sandy hill, and probably because I like to show off against the big boys, with their land cruisers and patrols, in my friend group there are some Nissan Patrols, and some rocky/fourtrack drivers and they really hate it when I come as far or further as them

OK, about the locker... that's one of the last things I do on my SJ.
Need to decide before 5 october, because 7-8-9 October, in the Netherlands is an event called "Offroad Budel" 3 Days of offroad fun, first day you can only drive on the main terrain... But the saturday and sunday there are 2 different roadbooks, each in 2 directions with 3-4 little playgrounds in it, and on the playgrounds sometimes it's heavy sh*t. Want the locker then mounted in my back diff. But it's a long time till then

Apparently a lot of the australians use the cheaper lockers and they work well

Can't find one of the cheaper versions of it, do you have a link or something? :er:
