Haha, this is good timing, I'd been running with the ammo box idea for big stuff, plus a tool box in my van for a while now, but they use up valuable load space.

So decided yesterday to utilize that unused space behind the front seats and do some research for soft sided storage.

The passenger side seat has more room and so ordered a £20 cabin case (50 x 40 x 30cm, 44L) to replace the ammo box and a £10.50 cheapo Draper tool bag (42 x 23 x 29cm, 28L) for behind drivers seat.

I'll let you know how they fit next week.

Worked out great for my particular needs. Freed up cargo area, only cheapo bags which don't scream I've got Snap-On or similar inside, and will only get rarely used.

Just get an ammo box big enough that you have to open the tailgate to put it in the the seats "deployed" ;)

Just bought myself a 24" Ammo Crate off eBay so hopefully that will do, Ill have to get a small toolbag to stick sockets etc in to stop them rattling around. I think I'll ratchet strap it down rather than bolt so its slightly more removable.
Also got a 800mm cargo net that I'm going to attach to the roof for cloths and jackets etc. might keep them out of the mud a bit!

Good lad, I like the idea of the cargo net, might have to invest in some ;)
