Hi
Hi
Hi all I'm from Malta. I've had my Suzuki for about 2 years. Recently started doing a rebuild (actually my mechanic is) since it had a few problems.
The engine has been changed to a Toyota 1NT 1.5 Diesel Engine by the previous owner.
Planing on doing a leaf over with 30" tyres. Will keep posting with updates and photos for your guys to enjoy.

Re: Hi
Wahey another from Malta! Welcome to the forum.
I will probably share this opinion with many from the forum... that you dont need spring over axle, especially with 30" tyres.
You can fit them on easily with some light modification without even lifting the vehicle.
Personally I would say 2" lift gives quite a good off roady look with 30s and it can be accomplished very easy just changing the leaf springs.
Spring over doesn't give you much articulation, and its not really worth it because it makes the vehicle tall and alters the handling.
Looking at the clearance you already have, you can fit 30s on there now... but I would definitely get rid of the massive shackles

Maybe the SPOA is going to be used to give clearance on the sump of the new engine?
Any way welcom to the site, great to see Suzuki love from other countries,

Re: Hi
The 15td is quite a compact engine, it fits in quite nicely apart from the exhaust being on the wrong side and the terrible way some people fit them (with 2 flywheels!!!)Tramp wrote:Maybe the SPOA is going to be used to give clearance on the sump of the new engine?

Re: Hi
Thanks all.
My mistake 31" instead of 30". How it is right now when the steering is on full lock the wheels hit the leaves.
How would the leaves connect to the front part of the car without shackles?
Sorry if its a silly question but I have no idea on this stuff and would love to learn more.

Re: Hi
Going spoa will not stop the tyres hitting the leaves at full lock, you need to limit the steering lock with anything over 30" with both spua and spoa set ups unless you run stupid amounts of offset on the wheels but then that causes other issues.
By loosing the shackles Twiss means changing back to standard length shackles, long shackles like that alter the caster angle and allow more side to side movement causing sloppy handling.
You should be able to run 31s with some minor clearancing and 2" lift springs. It will handle better and be more stable with less lift. I personally don't like driving sjs with spoa, they always feel like they are about to fall over

Re: Hi
I run 31" tyres on mine, with 15x8 wheels and and small-ish spacers I don't have any issues with the wheels rubbing on the springs
Putting standard length shackles on it will also improve the ride quality. For best comfort they should be at around 45 degrees, yours are nearly vertical so are not helping to absorb the bumps.
I have been speaking to a few people here regarding lifts recently and I think Rears up front would be a good option.
I'll pm you my number if you want to have a talk about it
