ive decided to use the sj axles as it is less fabrication and ive got enough to do as it is. here are the axles being preped for paint. ive also just been given some brackets for a rear disk conversion. im 1 brake disk and some wheel studs short, hopefully my buddy is droping me some over this week

Vaulves re seated, new stem seals. The head is now back on the engine but my camera battery ran out of Juce. There's a few bits I want to check before I mess about putting the engine in, if all goes well I'm hoping to drop it in this weekend

so some progress.....

engine 95% back together,

Image

transer box bolted up, this will need to come back out when i get round to making a cradle for it and stronger mounts

Image

ive started to line up the engine , so far ive done the gearbox mount (carlton mount with some new holes) the other mounts will take a little more time and i was getting a bit fustrated with it today so i decied it was time to down tools and continue in the morning

so engine is in... i used the carlton mounts with landrover heavy duty rubber bits and custom made the chassis mounts out of sheet steel, it was a pain trying to get the prop to line up but i think ive got pretty much in line now

Image

also noticed with the spring over axle conversion the prop may need to be a bit longer.

So ive worked out I've welded the mounts in wrong so ive got to shorten them a bit and move it forward a bit. Should get this done tonight

If you're gonna do it, do it right right.

That engine does look like its sitting pretty high, you want to mount the engine and trans so that it slants back slightly, keeping the angle of the gearbox output parallel to the Tbox input or you might experience vibrations at speed.
