time for a career change me thinks!

Post by ScottieJ » Wed Jul 14, 2010 5:30 pm

I passed my NPTC chainsaw maintenance, cross cutting and felling small trees course today and i'm well chuffed! did a few days with a tree surgeon friend a few months ago and enjoyed it so much I thought I'd give it a go and try to start a new career! Now I've just gotta find a job  and save up for my climbing and felling large tree tickets!

Sounds interesting scottie. Mate of mine was a lumberjack many years ago. Not something you hear much about outside of the forestry commission nowadays.

What are you changing career from? If you dont mind me asking.

All the best on a successful change.

   I'm not pretty enough for that, let alone camp enough  Nah I work for Parragon publishing, nothing special I just run a huge store room and sort out books all day long, sending them out to other offices and customers etc. it's pretty much like running a small warehouse on your own and it was kind've by chance I ended up here, I was just temping after leaving my old job programing and operating a sheet metal punch press and they offered a full time job, the money's pretty good and they're a good company to work for so I've been here ever since. about 4 years now I think  I'm just bored of being in an office all day!

They are some fairly severe career changes going on there. I understand the boredom thing tho. I worked in various offices for a few years and just got bored.

Good luck on the job hunt.
