sj413 with 1.6 engine. what alternator to use?

sj413 with 1.6 engine. what alternator to use?

i have a 413 sj, it has the 1.6 vitara. I need an alternator for it, is there a uprated one? where's the best place to get one from? its got the ribbed aux belt not the v belt

I just run a standard Vit alternator to match the engine.
1988 Samurai - Truck Cab & Tray Back - 1.6 8v & HIF44 - Snorkel - Stack Exhaust - PAS, YJs & 33s - Trussed, Gusseted & Pumpkin Capped Axles - 4.3 R&Ps - 4.16 T/Box - Rear Air Locker - Full Float Back Axle & Discs - RCV Front Shafts - X-Eng Handbrake - Custom Fuel Tank

ok, does anyone know what amp the alternator should be 1.6 vit engine? 50 or 70?

I ran the 1.3 alternator as it matched the plug
Sid James gone but never forgotten
Jimny 1.6 not as good as an SJ but still good

mine has the round plug with the ribbed belt. i think its 50 amp. i think the part number is LRB00125. these are about £135. do you know anywhere i can get it cheaper or a second hand one?

Just to add, I would recommend using the alternator with the internal fan, kinda like this

Rather than an external fan like this

The external fan seems to pick up water and spray it everywhere

1.3 or 1.6 either one will work apparently
