The new seats are finally in and attatched to the sliders too. And we gave up trying to fit the new arches..Stu came up with the tyre idea so I went to Merrits and they gave me some old Yokohamas, he cut them to size and welded some brackets in and they bolted straight on. Neat I think but they need a bit of trimming.

Much to my relief the steering damper is on. As with everything it didn't fit, I think it's more a 'universal' one than tailored for a Vitara. The U bolts didn't have enough thread on them so more was tapped on and some spacers needed making up. But what a difference it makes. OK so the steering is a little heavier but no wheel wobble at all.

Finally got around to trimming the arches. Yokohama's are tough bastards but the angle grinder won.

I think the last time I seen this thread you bought the Astra shocks for it and put the pro comp graphics on it

So that was a very long time ago haha!

Just had a really good catch up on the thread, progress has been second to none, really good read and you've done a amazing job man.

Nice one!

Cheers chaps. Nowhere near finished and I suppose it never will be, there's always something else to do or modify. New volt and oil pressure gauges are in with 2 switches for the extra lights. Next up another respray in battleship grey and another 2" lift. Wonder if 33" tyres are ok on a Vit?

Nout wrong with Astra shocks.... here in Malta the mark 2 astra was largely sold as a DAEWOO RACER
How much cooler is that than boring tedious Opel Astra

Painting today...the bonnet is going to be, err, different. The so called primer I have used is actually a satin colour. Handy as primer and a good colour I think.
