At least they made an effort. Probably enough to avoid fines and points temporarily (spelling)?

Re: That's well illegal...
If I were a copper and saw that, I don't think I'd pull him. Although if I saw him like that again a week later, I might pull him over and remind him that a motor factors is going to sell the screws he needs, and B&Q can sell him a screwdriver...

Number plate is duct taped on; meaning that he doesn't have the legally required margins around the letters on his number plate.themac wrote:Not getting it, could be my eyes. What's wrong with it?
Thing is, these days, plod won't pull you if the computer in their car can still read it.
There's three ways of doing things:
The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

Re: That's well illegal...
I recently came back from a PnP day with the SJ covered in mud. Number plate was utterly obscured by mud - it was just a light grey/brown plate on the font and same on the back. Passed a couple of coppers, including some by the side of the road who were obviously there just to check people's plates and do anyone who hasn't got tax/mot/insurance. Nothing was said *at all*.Edweird wrote: Number plate is duct taped on; meaning that he doesn't have the legally required margins around the letters on his number plate.

The police set up traps to pull people a lot in SE London, as a lot of the immigrants run around in deathtraps without tax/insurance etc, and you regularly see some African or eastern European getting his car confiscated by the side of a road.
Anyhow, if you want to see what the SJ looked like that day:

I have no idea how I wasn't collared. Really. I washed my lights, but completely forgot my number plate - the mud hardened, and it was about a week later that I realised that I was *still* running around like a pillock with my number plates *a little dirty*.
Oh, and I think you can also be done for not having your number plate secured properly. Ductape is asking for the thing to fall off. I could be wrong about that though (stick on ones ok?).

I see this moron every day. The cops stop him all the time and take him home telling him not to use this thing on the road....what a berk.
