Re: Elsie
I always wanted an elsie. When I upgraded from a Suzy GP100 I got a Honda CB250RS.It was OK and probs saved me a couple of times when had I been on an Elsie I would`ve been going faster and the outcome different. Then the 1981 learner law came around and turned my RS into worthless metal, the only 250`s to hold their value were you guessed it Elsie`s.I`ve had all manner of bikes since but never did get around to owning an Elsie, now look at their prices :(
Still looking for Buckeye road.

Re: Elsie
Yeah passed my test on the GP I got the 250RS because I thought it was a sensible upgrade rather than going for say a 550.Up until 3 years ago I had a 600 Bandit, getting a hankering for another bike now.

Re: Elsie
It must have been later than 81. I remember buying loads of 250s because it was cheaper than fixing the one I was using.maxsixpence wrote:Then the 1981 learner law came around and turned my RS into worthless metal(

Re: Elsie
Pretty sure it was 1982, but I passed mine then. About as complicated as open a packet of biscuits..

Re: Elsie
Yes you are right it was 1982 as I`d bought the RS brand new in Aug 81.I think it was the legalising of CB radio in 81.Phew I feel old :(

Age is irrelevant it's what you do that counts. If you want a trip down memory lane you are welcome to have a ride any time matey! (Just let me get her registered, MOT'd, taxed and insured first!)

Re: Elsie
WAY to big a bike for me! Saying that I had a GS1000 and that was one hell of a lump of metal...
