Come on if you love her that much you'll get her sorted this weekend.

They can't fail you for the number plate being under the screen, there is no rules to say where on the front or rear of the vehicle it should be positioned, the MOT book just states that it needs to be visible and not obscured in a way that you cannot read it from 20 metres from front or rear of the vehicle.

Tell him to go read the MOT manual and show you where exactly it says it cant be mounted there!

I f***ing hate MOT testers who dont even know the rules!!!!!!

Steady as she goes!

We all know how you feel Robbie,

Sadly i dont use my SJ as often as i would like too, but at the weekends i try and find time to take it out for a spin, as to not let anything seize up,and to remind me about driving a motor without all the modern day tech that we find on most cars these days.

Enjoy the pleasure of owning your SJ .

the no plate thing is a grey area....

i got pulled..(well id stopped ina laybey and he came over for a chat)..

he said i could get a ticket for the no plate position but they tend not to as long as it is visable and standard shape and size...

well as we all know mine is not...

so now i just carry a spare front plate on the dash for driving around...if they moan i will zip tie it to the cage..

tony :P

I read somewhere that you can get away with not having a front plate under certain circumstances, but I forgot what the criteria are. Things like high performance cars don't have them for aerodynamic stuff (more like they don't want to ruin the 'looks') and only have a rear. This may not apply to SJ's because they're shaped like a wardrobe.
There's three ways of doing things:

The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.
