Re: Elsie
Put on the restored bars today in between doing other bits for Piglet6 (the doors). I do have a spare set of ZXR clocks that I think will look rather cool on Elsie with the added bonus I can sell the old clocks for a tidy sum...I do need to find a replacement light switch though, not the entire unit just the headlight switch itself. Proving to be rather tricky!

Re: Elsie
Finally did some more...clutch lever refurbed and is on, but it looks like I'll have to bleed the brakes to replace the rather bent lever...yes it is a fake number plate! Next time she gets her tank painted...

Re: Elsie
Drained off the fuel (chucked most of it in the LJ lol), and got the tank off ready for some prep work prior to painting. Changed the exhaust gaskets but one pipe wobbles all over the place. The Haynes manual has a chapter on this problem so new bushes are needed along with different washers. I'll look on ebay for them. Thought may as well clean up the footrests and mounts whilst the pipes are off and do these engine casings too....why not?

Re: Elsie
Cleaned up and painted the brake reservoir cover, brake lever is done, carb rebuild kits are on, new float bowl gaskets and jets...the indicators are now fixed properly and I really like the way they look, much more modern a design. The exhaust is also on correctly after a bit of faffing around with bushes and washers.

Re: Elsie
Getting the last little bits done before MOT time. I need it registered as a white colour so I've made a start, filled all the little dings on the tank, a new and much better mudguard arrived, only a tenner, brand new!

Re: Elsie
Had some spare time today whilst waiting for some paint stripper to work on a petrol tank...I tried polishing Elsie's forks but not a chance, so they got painted instead. Getting the front wheel off was a bit of a faff as you have to remove the calipers, so why not paint the wheel at the same time? Started to give it a clean and it is coming up like new, and that is a bit of a relief...to try painting them as they are originally would be a right pain.
