I only ever had cars so it sounds like wheel bearing gone so was going to swap the axles and do a full reconstruction of the old one or rebuild the one I have in the shed :thumbup: :thumbdown: :er:

The ball joints look fine, could probably do with some new felts but those aren't even that important anyway.

Personally I would jack each side up, check for any play, give them a spin to see if they are noisy and just replace what needs changing, it's not hard to rebuild an Sj axle and you can easily just service one side at a time.

This thread tells you how to check and set up the wheel and kingpin bearings, if there's a bit of play in the kingpins you might be able to just remove some shims if there's any left, keep any that you take out for when you fit new kingpin bearings.
