I have an issue with my indicators any help.

Post by chazz_543 » Sun Feb 22, 2015 5:31 pm

Hi all. I am 95% through my rebuild and I have an issue with my indicators on the right of my sj 413 samurai. It's a Japanese spec car on an M reg. If you indicate left all is ok however if you indicate right the flasher relay just buzzes. The hazard switch is on the right of the dash next to the rear fog switch. It works but is sticking and needs a wiggle to work. I know the indicator switch is ok as I have a spare. I think it mite be the hazard switch but not shore how it's wired. Anyone have similar problems. Thanx

Your hazards and indicators are normal separate. Different fuses and different realays. I think. So have you tried swapping the relay out? Checked lamps?

Do all the indicators light up with the hazards on.

Just the one relay, so I assume it's good.
As Rick says, if the bulbs are gone the relay will not operate properly.

Thanx all will be getting out in the workshop 2morrow. I will run through all the ideas and see if we can get to the bottom of it. Thank you for the wiring diagram looks nice and simple. Looking forward to getting her back on the road. Want to get muddy.

Ok so spent some time 2night looking at my indicators. Following you advice checked earth's and cleaned some of them up but all ok. I then whet through the bulb holders and found some corrosion on the right side repeater bulb and front bulb holder I could not remove the bulb so corroded. So checked the left as well and the same story don't know how they were working. Looks like new bumpers and Defender led lights will be going on. Thanx for all the help boys.
