Re: Kawazonkey
Did some work to the race bike today...whipped off the old forks and wheel and was very happy to find that the frame has been stove enamelled. Cleaned it up a bit and refurbed the headstock. The YPVS L2 forks went straight on! Looks great!

Re: Kawazonkey
Front wheel on...swing arm off. The YPVS wheels weigh about a 3rd of what the RD ones did. This should be a quick little thing!

Re: Kawazonkey
Did a bit of work on the swing arm as that isn't powder coated. Almost done..and gave up wrestling with 'lil Kawazonkeys rear tyre and took it to a fitter. All done and looks so much better. Both tyres are a bit fatter than the original size but it's a popular upgrade.

Re: Kawazonkey
Both wheels on the race bike...I think they look rather good. I will need to make a spindle to fit though as the YPVS one is way to long.

Re: Kawazonkey
Set off for Southampton today to go get the race engine..lovely scenery, and met a bloke called Keith on yet another farm...came home with the engine, carbs, seat unit, 2 sets of pipes and a front brake perch. The engine is completely rebuilt and has been vapour blasted too. Smashing!

Re: Kawazonkey
You can drive? Man i wasn't that lucky when I did my knee.
Careful though matey, you don't want to end up like me and have a dodgy knee for life, even though I've had an ACL reconstruction it still hurts now and again.
Sounds like a good score! I'm gonna have another look for that fuel pump for you tomorrow. I know it's there somewhere!!

Re: Kawazonkey
DOH! Had the forks on the wrong way round...changed them over. Seat unit had a test fit...bang on. Engine fits perfectly too and I put the clip ons, err, on. Ordered new ones as one is bent...and engine bolts and the mounting bracket. All parts are on ebay and not that expensive which surprises me. The black Allspeeds are for the race bike, the chrome ones for Elsie (I prefer Allspeed to Micron) so my Microns will go on ebay. And had another accident today and I may or may not have a bust/bruised rib...I walked into a handlebar and there is a a massive bruised lump on an upper rib bone. Sheesh...

Re: Kawazonkey
I know matey...it's lack of sleep that's doing it and I'm getting clumsy (hence the forks the wrong way round). My GP says I need 2 weeks holiday...and rest the knee for 2 weeks. Well that's never going to happen and I have had a lot worse and bounced back. Not trying to pop my own clogs just not very focused at the moment...
