For the sake of 4 bolts just drop the tank for easier access.

Without cutting a whole in the rear floor no.

It's quite easy to drop the tank on an sj anyway.

Okay problem is the tank is full to the top as we were not sure how much was in there at any time
is there enough piping to allow lowering tank or do they need removing with loss of fuel ?????
thanks

some tanks have a drain bung on the bottom, it would be easier to disconnect the pipes and sender wires and completely drop the tank.

Will put into garage when its warmer ....might be able to jiggle the wire connector if i can reach it in situ
grasping at straws i guess......no damn inspection plate to remove in the rear deck which would have been sensible of Suzuki.....
Guess it will be in order to carry on smoking my big King Edward cigars when i work on the fuel tank

Since replacing the faulty alternator the fuel gauge now reads correctly
