Re: Kawazonkey
I know and it's such a pain, slows up work no end. I have ordered replacements and I'm going to get Mr Angry on that lever and cut off the bit that sticks out. I do now have a new battery for the Mito so that should do the trick.

Re: Kawazonkey
The Mito's battery arrived and it involved filling it with acid. I followed the instructions but I should have done it my way. After emptying the acid bottle 2 chambers were empty. So I sucked some out of the others and did it my way (cue Sid Vicious/Frank Sinatra). So on a charge overnight to give it some serious wallop. And to fit the race seat I had to fix two bolts to the seat itself. So a bit of fibreglass to hold them in place should do it. Meanwhile 'lil Kawazonkey is moving on, more bits bolted on and a new brake lever is on it's way from the US. I can't cut down the one I have as it just won't fit at all.oh and some bits for the race bike arrived. I need rearsets but they are £210 new. Won a set tonight on fleabay for £51!

Re: Kawazonkey
The fibreglass idea worked a treat and the race seat is on Mia. With the new battery on she still wouldn't fire. I then realised I had put the new fuel filter on backwards. DOH! Runs sweet now, but the exhaust is blowing...a lot. Some idiot has welded it up and that isn't a good idea on a 2 stroke as the bore inside the expansion pipe has to be smooth to help exhaust flow and I bet it ain't like that anymore. Might have to get a new one...or maybe not if a 350 lump turns up.

Re: Kawazonkey
A bit of research..one fork leg has a spring the other a damper so that counteracts any negative problems with having a single disc. And she has a brace under the mudguard. And of course they are like on 'on off switch'...it's a 2 stroke what do you expect?RickUK wrote:With that big single disc at the front does it have any form of a fork brace to stop the forks twisting or does it have one built into the front mudguard ?? Twin disc setup's never had that problem,on alot of the early 2 smoke machines you could buy say a after market fork brace from firms like Micron and many others.
I would think the power delievery on such a highly tuned motor like that would like a on/off switch all or nothing and got to be kept on the power band other wise it just dies.

Re: Kawazonkey
Sold my soul tonight. Bought a Yamaha RD350LC. A German import but the engine and frame numbers match. All original (but not for long). I so regretted selling my old LC, I spent a small fortune on it, RGV forks and banana swing arm with a stage 3 Stan Stevens tune. Blew up every 500 miles but it was worth it. This old girl will be kept in standard tune but a few trick bits will be added. And it was cheap too...there is a 350LC on ebay at the moment for £7000! Stay tuned I should pick it up on sunday.

I had a Yamaha RD250 loved that bike went like stink and my first one was a Yamaha FS1E with peddles (unrestricted) and re-bored, bought for £50 of a neighbour all it needed was fresh petrol and a spark plug, These bikes go for a fortune now :(

Re: Kawazonkey
A mint Fizzie can go for £3000, RD250/400 £4-5000 but the LC's go for silly prices. There's an RD500 for £13000 on ebay. My LC is staying. The Mito and Kawazoney2 will be finished and sold on due to lack of space!

Re: Kawazonkey
I can get maybe 6-7 bikes in the workshop or 2 SJ's. At the moment 2 cars live outside and I drive 1 home...or the Mito depending on the weather!
