2002 Suzuki GV 2.0 5 DR PETROL

Post by Catweezil » Mon Jan 05, 2015 12:32 am

I have a water leak and the foot well of the front passenger side is always completely soaking. I've had a garage look at it and they cant find anything wrong :argh: They checked the inside of the door where the glass travels up and down and put a hose on the door for an hour. All for the princely sum of £80

I regularly clear the drain tubes under the front windscreen thinking it was them but the carpet is still soaking wet. So its not them I think.

What else can it be? I've just started offroading big time and this is holding me back.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Do you have aircon? My Yaris has leaky aircon that soaks the passenger footwell regularly. It's water that has condensed in the system and should be drained outside the car, but that drain keeps blocking up.

Not that I know of no.

I'm sure I fleetingly read somewhere on the net it could be grommets on the underside or water coming in near the bulk head but can you find it ........ :S

If you're wanting to check for door / window seal leaks. Just set a smoke bomb off on a plate on the back seat.. :D

Check the aircon pipework, the GV has an issue with the drain becoming blocked, it can result in water running over the ECU and blowing it up.

Hmmm I dont have an aircon just the normal heater controls in the cab. Its a 2002 model year. Should I still be checking?

Sounds like leaky heater pipe work.
