Annoying rattling

Post by SZ5 » Sat Mar 18, 2017 5:39 pm

Driving home from work and started to get an annoying rattle. Sounded like it was under passenger side of car. Anyway took a look today and found the aluminium exhaust heat shield had dropped down and was resting on exhaust. New supports x3 fabricated and the rattle has gone. Wish all fixes were that simple. :D

Cheers Mate. Just took a skeg at your profile. I had a series 2 landy as my first car. I learnt a huge amount about car mechanics and driving - I do think folks who learn on a modern vehicle mss out on the experience of yesterday's technology. I only bought my Grand Vitara as a cheapish winter 4x4 but I love driving it. The 2.4 petrol is very quiet (unless you push it hard). That smoothness made the rattle so much more annoying.
