Cheers Robbie, bonnet still needs work and after last night so did the rest of her. New (again) wiper on and both stuck on with Gorilla Glue. Yes I can get them off ok with the little pin. Then the spare mirror got bolted to the wing, after drilling holes in the wrong place!

So the old girl has been a little 'off' recently. I changed the air filter for a Fram one and what a difference that made but she still didn't feel right. Checked the plugs, all the perfect colour and gaps, then noticed one of the HT leads going to the dizzy was only half on, aha I thought, pulled it off to see this...

Jordi says it looks like an ally version of copper slip, it's all furry like a build up on a battery. Why it's blue and how it got there is a mystery as I put that cap on when I got the car. Anyway, cleaned it out then the HT lead fell apart. Got one from the motor factors and have ordered a new set and dizzy.

Got my halogen bulbs too but how the hell do I fit them?

Are they sealed units? If not you will need to remove the grill and then get the glass out of the bowl.

Take the grill off, then you should see the screws that are used to adjust the beam. From memory you should be able to push the light and twist the lense unit out and get to the bulb.
I can look at mine in the morning and get some pics, the grill is already off and in the house, for protection of course
